Mental health disturbances are rnuch more common than most of us realize. On a. nation-wide basis, it is estimated that 1 out of 5 of us will need professional help for emotional difficulties at some time in our lives. We are living in a stressful world where the normally complicated task of living has at times become nearly unbearable for all of us. Alcohol and drug abuse, family breakups, depression, general anxiety, child-rearing problems--none of these are unusual in our communities and iri our lives. Fortunately, most of us who need help need not disrupt our daily routines to get it since staff can help us through our problems in a number of scheduled appointments at our local clinic. However, if a person needs hospital treatment, staff at the clinics can help him enter the proper treatment program: Return from the hospital is also made easier for a person and his family by professional support in the clinic. This type of assistance may prevent further hospitalization.
