THE DAY TREATMENT PROGRAM

While our mental health clinics are able to meet most of the mental health needs we find in our communities, there are times when more intensive treatment is needed. In the past these persons were often hospitalized. Many professionals are now aware that long periods in the hospital, besides being very expensive, can make it harder for the patient to adjust when he once again comes home to community and family life. In response, the Day Treatment Program was designed especially for those people whose difficulties put them in danger of being sent to a psychiatric hospital; or those who are being discharged from such a hospital.
