An appreciation night for D. French Slaughter, retiring delegate, will be held January 4. Mr. Slaughter has served in the Virginia House of Delegates for twenty years representing the 25th Legislative District.
The dinner will be held at the Culpeper Holiday Inn on Route 29, south beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Numerous honor guests are expected to attend and Gov. Mills E. Godwin has indicated he will be present for the occasion.
Delegate-Elect George P. Beard, Jr. will succeed Mr. Slaughter who has served this district since 1958 and did not seek reelection. He has been an extremely valuable legislator.
