According to Turner, Carter left the party after being asked to go. Later, after Starks and Gatewood departed at approximately 1:30 a.m., Turner said he saw Carter coming away from Starks’s car "with a gun in his hand . . walking back towards my house. 1 took the gun in the house and laid it on the counter ... I asked him what he'd done and he said T got them. 1 got them both.' ”
Carter “act d like nothing had really happened,” Turner testified. "He said he’d proved his point” Turner added that Carter didn’t appear to be angry or mad.
In response to questions from defense attorney Biddle, Turner said he had know Carter for about 12 years and was aware that Carter and Gatewood “went together . . . lived together for about a year and a half, two years.”
