For Route 211
The State Highway and Transportation Commission has approved a low bid contract submitted by Henderson Construction Company, Inc., Fredericksburg for completion of the final 3.1 miles of Arterial 211 in Amissville.
The $1,852,870 contract includes grading, draining and paving 3.1 miles of parallel two-lane roadway in the Amissville area to close the final gap and complete construction between Warrenton and Washington. Only an eight-mile section between Washington and Panorama remains to be four-laned to complete work on the 60-mile route between Interstate 81 at New Market and Arterial 29 at Warrenton.
Rock Excavators, Inc., Amherst, was awarded a contract for $196,663 to complete realignment and safety improvements to the intersection of Route 231 with Secondary 707 at Rivercombs Corner.
