New Ranger

Shenandoah National Park Superintendent Robert R. Jacobsen has announced the appointment of John P. Ritenour as the new Assistant Chief Park Ranger. Ritenour replaces John Welch who transferred recently to Buffalo National River in Arkansas.
Ritenour’s last assignment was Mt. Rainier National Park, Washington. He was stationed previously in the National Capitol Parks and at Colorado National Monument.
Ritenour will assume his new job in January. He and his wife, Anita, have three children. The Ritenours will reside at Park Headquarters.
