some canaiuai.es nave jumped straight from no list to the big time. Flora Crater is an example. Until last week, her name was not on any of my lists. Then, out of the blue, she announces her candidacy. That makes her a “has announced” and her candidacy is official. Mrs. Crater ran for lieutenant governor four years ago as an Independent. She is a dedicated supporter of women’s rights and plans to make this an issue in her campaign.
Reviewing the list of “have announceds” we find that the official candidates—and this list is by no means official—are, on the Democratic side, Rufus Phillips, Fred Babson and Hunter Andrews; for the Republicans, Nathan Miller and Richard Obenshain.
These lists will all change as more and more politicians find that they are called for higher service.
Who knows how many more will by the early May cut-off date.
