The tall challengers
jumped out to a quick lead in the opening minutes and in
the first two periods piled up
enough points to insure the win, but the undaunted
Panthers fought back in the second half to chop point after point off their deficit. But the near rally came too late as the Mountaineers handed their hosts their second loss of the season,
winning by a 19-point margin that was not indicative of the closeness of the battle for the ball.
