STATE LICENSED HIDE AND FUR BUYER, Thomas Baldwin of Sperryviile, examines and counts the pelts that he has purchased in the past two weeks. They will be stored until which time the price warrants their sale. Baldwin has been dealing in furs since he was 15 years old and is the only licensed county buyer. He handles a load of furs about every two weeks, including beaver, otter deer, bear and coon. Frankie Brown keeps tally on the count as they are loaded for transporting to storage. During the summer, especially July, prices increase and the hides will be marketed.
