Leading scorer for the Rapps was LajR7 Settle who tossed in 11 points. Steve Mucciarone shot the last basket within seconds, breaking the tie. It was a fine team effort and at the end of the game the score showed Rappahannock with 35 and Garke 33.
The Varsity game held a bit more excitement, with the winning shot coming in the last 3 seconds. The score was tied with 8 seconds left when Donnie Compton put up a shot. The ball rolled around the rim, then dropped out probably causing a few hearts to come to a near stand still.

Early Saturday afternoon a fire broke out in a chimney in the mill house on Mountain Green Farm. The tenant, Mrs. Margaret Righter, called for help from the fire department. Within minutes the Washington Fire Department was on the scene, followed by the Hint Hill Department.
