Leake
Graveside rites for John Thomas Leake of Sperryville were conducted Tuesday at the Washington Masonic Cemetery by the Rev. Archie Clatterbuck.
Mr. Leake, 94, died at his home on Saturday, January 28, 1978, following a short illness.
He was the son of the late John Leake and Fannie Woodward Leake of Rappahannock County and farmed for most of his life.
He is survived by his wife, Lillie Blondell Woodward Leake; two sons, Conrad B. Leake of Boston and J. Woodson Leake of Sperryville; four daughters. Mrs. Lillie Corbin, Mrs. Carrie Jenkins and Mrs. Willie McFarland of Sperryville and Mrs. Lelia Leake of Chester Gap; 22 grandchildren; 52 greatgrandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were James Leake, Thomas Leake, Charles William Jenkins, Gary Bright, Bobbie Lewis Jenkins, Thomas Edward Jenkins, Wayne Corbin and John Wayne Leake. »
