The seeds should sprout within four weeks in a warm, sunny location. As the plants mature, transplant into larger containers to allow for good root growth.
Citrus requires plenty of sunlight and regular feedings of fertilizer. If the leaves turn yellow, the plant is suffering from over watering or an iron deficiency. Citrus plants grow well outside during the warm months, but must have indoor protection during the winter.
WINTER SALADS
You don’t have to give up salads in the winter when lettuce and tomatoes aren’t up to homegrown. Use vegetables that are comparable in quality both summer and winter such as cauliflower, broccoli, zucchini and spinach.
