BOTTLE BILL HEARING A state bottle bill will be considered at a public hearing Friday before a joint committee of the Senate Committee on Rehabilitation and Social Services and the House Commitee on General Laws. The hearing will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Committee Room D of the General Assembly Building.
Ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment will be considered at a public hearing at 9 a.m. Feb. 8 in Room D of the General Assembly Building.
- ELECTORAL BOARDS
Some Democratic legislators are attempting to change the make-up of local electoral boards.
As they are composed now, two thirds of the members must belong to the Governor’s party. The third member must belong to the party out of office.
For the last eight years, this has meant that local electoral boards have been made up of two Republicans and one Democrat. The Democratic legislators have introduced legislation this session changing the composition of the local boards.
