There is a brand new trophy in the trophy case at RCHS. It has a statue of a girl running on it and it says “SKYLINE DISTRICT CHAMPIONS 1978”. The Rappahannock Varsity girls’ track team brought good news back with them from JMU.
James Madison University hosted the annual meet on Satnrday, May 6. AH school! of the district were in attendance with athletes in peak form to face some of the toughest competition so far this year. Results had to be good with the promise of participating in the future regional and state meets.
Of the nine other schools there, Stonewall, Central and Luray were the ones Rappahannock had to keep both eyes on. Stonewall and Central are teams that keep coming back at you, and Luray individuals Hazel Rudacille and Allison Stone, along with others, always place in Rapp’s key events.
