racing, trophies presentation often goes unnoticed. To give the awards their proper place, the Rappahannock trophies will be presented this year, in a ceremony following each race, at the newly constructed announcer's stand where all can see and hear.
Two new races have been added to this year’s race card. A Pony Race for riders under 16 years will be run over a flat course. The New Mount Marshall Race will be a 2-l/i mile race for gentlemen foxhunters who have hunted this past season. These two new races promise to be exciting and to please the crowds.
Rappahannock's races will start at 11 a.m. with the Pairs Race against the clock and will finish with the unique Hound Race. Fifty of Virginia’s finest foxhounds will compete in spirited competition in a drag race over the rolling course. This race has become a special feature in Rappahannock’s Race day. 1 Tickets will be available at the gates. The public is cordially invited to attend one of Virginia’s finest sports events. Mrs. Chester W. Fannon, Jr. of Castleton is Secretary for this year’s races.
