Monday, May IS, 1978 is the final date to sign up under the 1978 Wheat and Feed Grain Set-Aside Program.
In order to participate in the Set-Aside Program, Farmers must set-aside 10 per cent of their intended feed grain acreage (corn, barley and grain sorghum) and 20 per cent of their wheat acreage. Participation in the 1978 Wheat and Feed Grain Set-Aside Program is strictly voluntary, however if a producer choses not to participate, he is NOT eligible for commodity loans, deficiency payments, and the low yield disaster program.
A producer can set-aside an additional 10 per cent of his intended feed grain planting and receive a cash payment.
