Mrs. Chester Wayland with Mrs. John Creel of Culpeper were Thursday visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Jenkins in Culpeper and later visited their sister, Mrs. Lucille Corbin, a patient in Culpeper Memorial Hospital. Mr. Wayland was a recent guest of Mr. and Mrs. John Williams and Lester Wayland in Culpeper. Bill Ehart of Clearwater, Fla., visited Mr. and Mrs. Wayland Friday.
Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Elanton and Miss Mary Nell Blanton of Amelia arrived Friday to spend the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Wood and Henry B. and Mrs. Henry Wood. Saturday the Wood family and their houseguests attended the Apple Blossom Parade in Winchester and were luncheon guests of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Brown there.
Mr. and Mrs. K. P. Grigsby, Kerry Grigsby and Mrs. Chester Wayland visited Mrs. Tom Leake and Mrs. Lucille Corbin, both patients in Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
RCHS Boys Track
The Rappahannock bo vs’ track team coached by Karl Studt represented RCHS admirable in the tough competition in the Boys Division of the Skyline District. Although a much smaller team than some of the other entries, the boys did manage to conquer some of their opponents.
Every individual placed in his respective event. Curtis Nichols placed fifth in the 440 and fourth in the 220. Ninth grader Carl Jordan captured sixth in the 220 yd. dash while also running a best time ever with the mile relay team of Curtis Nichols, Greg Turner and Chris Foster, which ran the event in 3:46.
Curtis Nichols and Carl Jordan will be representing the Panthers in the Region B Track and Field Meet in Fluvanna County on Saturday, May 13.
