Mrs. Roger Alden Derby Jr. of Upperville and J. Mallory Nash of Granville Farm, Warrenton, announce the engagement of their daughter Philippa Lyman to John H. Mears III of Highland Manor, near Ben Venue.
Miss Nash attended the Madeira School at Greenway, was graduated from Notre Dame Academy, Middleburg, and attended the University of Virginia.
