Supervisor Wood added that he wanted to resond to the “scolding” handed out to the Board by the ministers in the audience. He said he’d heard church members say that ‘‘some of the young ones” had the wrong ideas on morality. According to Wood, these same church members would like to see their ministers working in the churches and leaving politics to the politicians. “What does that have to do with the budget?" asked someone in the audience.
“Nothing." Wood answered, “but I thought while we were getting lessons 1 might as well try it in reverse.”
Th Supervisors took no action on the proposed budget at Monday's meeting session. They will meet again on Monday, June 26, at 8:30 a.m. in the courthouse to approve a budget for fiscal year 1978-1979 and set a tax rate for personal property and real estate.
