Although regulations requiring that cattle be fenced from streams hare been proposed, Adams said he didn't think any law would be passed. "But it bears keeping an eye on,” he agreed.
Eddins noted that SCS can provide technical assistance in developing recreation areas such as public fish ponds and camp grounds while the Farmers Home Administration can also lend money to build golf courses and other recreational projects.
“How does that relate to agriculture?” asked Irwin.
Extra income from something like a public fishing pond may “be just enough to keep the farmer going,” Miller replied.
