The Rappahannock Supervisors listened to repeated requests for more school funds and an additional Sheriffs deputy at Monday’s special budget hearing but they gave no indication that they would make any significant revisions to the proposed county budget.
Missing from the session were the farmers who usually turn out in droves to protest steadily rising property taxes. In their place sat other citizens concerned with what they saw as inadequacies in the school system, an overworked and understaffed police force and unfair utility levies.
