Jennings Hobson stated he wasn't “anti anyone" but supported Irvin Kenyon's candidacy because the "leadership that he represents is the kind we need the most.”
Ron Wiley also supported Kenyon, maintaining that he could “bring great character to the School Bward, His character is above reproach in every way,” said Wiley, adding that Kenyon was a long-time resident of the county who knew most Rappahannock citizens. He added that a rumor had gone around with the Masterson petition in the StonewallHawthorne District that held Kenyon wasn't eligible to serve if appointed to the School Board, and asked that this be clarified since the report was untrue.
Johnson said that he'd checked and ascertained that Kenyon could serve on the Board. Trustee John S. Browning added that Kenyon was not only eligible but encouraged bv his suoeriors in the Virginia Wildlife Commission to accept appointment.
