The Shenandoah Valley Music Festival Week will begin on Saturday, July 22, at Orkney Springs. The Festival will start off with a Tchaikovsky Spectacular. By popular demand, the 1812 0\enure will again be performed with the Rice Battery of New Market and the Cutshaw Battery of Winchester providing the authentic cannonade. Last season, this event brought a record 2,000 people to the Pavilion in Orkney Springs. The program will also include Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 5 and his popular Violin Concerto with concert master Richard Posner as soloist.
