Dawson Subdivision
No one showed up to speak at the public hearing on rezoning Jay Dawson's 480 acres near Huntly front? agriculture and conservation to residential subdivision. Dawson plans to divide the land into 16 lots ranging from 25 to 50 acres with two lots facing on Route 522, six facing on Route 662 and eight served by approximately 9,000 feet of gravel roadway. The proposal won unanimous approval from the Rappahannock Planning Commission after an advertised public hearing.
Planning Commission Chairman Herbert Barksdale, who represents Dawson's district on the Planning Commission, told the Supervisors that he had heard “no complaints" on the subdivision proposal.
“Butch, it’s out your way,” said Luke to Supervisor Edwin Eastham. “What do you hear?”
“Nothing,” Eastham answered. The vote to approve the rezoning for development was unanimous. “1 don't like to see it happen but it’s all legal," commented Supervisor Dick Latham.
