Apparently in response to recent drug problems at the high school and the elementary school, the Rappahannock School Board adopted revisions at Tuesday’s meeting for policy dealing with the possession, sale and distribution of illegal drugs. By unanimous vote, the Board members granted school principals and their “designated representatives” the authority to search persons, lockers and classrooms should they suspect students of illegal drug possession.
The policy change came just a night after the Board dealt with two student discipline matters involving drugs.
