making a replacement imperative before another winter.
A new A-frame or gabletype roof is now planned, for which a goal of $3,500 is set. In addition to donations, which it is hoped will be forthcoming, two community projects are scheduled to assist in this worthy effort:
1) On the weekend of November 4 and 5 the firemen will be having a photographer at the fire hall. For $5 you can have an 8 x 10 family portrait in color. You will need to purchase a coupon in advance for this portrait. You may do so by calling Hubert Gilkey. President of the Fire Department, at 635-5472 or Bradley Williams at Williams' Store at 635-2627. The pictures will be back before Christmas, and will make wonderful gifts.
2) Also planned for this fall is the making of apple butter. Everyone’s help will be needed in preparing the apples. Dates for peeling will be posted at Williams' Store.
