Bicentennial

The F.T. Baptist Church is celebrating its 200th anniversary this year. The bicentennial year will come to a close on Sunday, Oct. 15, with a presentation of the history of the church and its people by the Rev. A. Paul Thompson, Dean of Students at Fork Union Military Academy and a former minister.

Known as the Ragged Mt. Church in its early years, F. T. Baptist Church's first pastor, George Eve, was a friend of James Madison. In 1816, the congregation purchased the present site and built a church in the shape of a cross. On the same site in 1882, the present building was erected.

The public is cordially invited to attend the service Sunday, Oct. 15 at II a in.
