Sixteen Students
at College Night
Sixteen students from Rappahannock County High School attended a College Night Program held Oct. 5 at Culpeper County High School. Rappahannock students had an opportunity to visit with representatives of at least three different colleges.
More than 45 institutions had representatives participating in the College Night Program.
Anniversary
The First Baptist Church. Washington, will celebrate its 100th anniversary Sunday, Oct. 15, at 3 p.m. The Rev. U. S. Brokenburr. pastor of Hopewell Baptist Church, will conduct the services. All sister churches and the general public are invited to attend.
Quilt Contest
In conjunction with the Festival of Leaves this weekend in Front Royal, Regina Mill Outlet is sponsoring a quilt contest with a first prize of $100. Quilts must be brought to the Regina Mill Outlet store located behind Crims Trailer Sales, Commerce Ave., Front Royal between the hours of 9 and 5 on Friday, October 13.
A second prize of $50 and a $25 third prize are also offered. All quilts should be handworked, appliqued, pieced and or embroidered. All sizes and fabrics accepted and only new quilts, (not antiques) may be entered.
