Rejecting protests from the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection, the county Board of Supervisors agreed at a meeting last Thursday to make no changes in recently adopted amendments to the Rappahannock Zoning Ordinance.
Jim Marshall, vicepresident of RLEP, presented the Supervisors with a letter from Allen H. Olson, a Warrenton Environmental attorney retained by the League. Olson expressed RLEP's concern over amendments adopted September 7 that change the county’s former conservation zoning district to a conservation-recreation district with ‘'outdoor recreation, including but not limited to skiing, swimming pools, tennis courts and gravity slides” permitted as uses by right.
