Central T elephone Company of Virginia has announced an increase in local service rates in Front Royal and Shenandoah .‘Tective with November bills.

The typical residential customer with one-party service may expect an increase of 66 cents per month. The typical business customer with one-party service may expect an increase of $1.48 per month.

The new rates result from growth in the number of telephones customers can call in the Shenandoah and Front Royal areas, according to David A. Bohmer, Centel General Regulatory Manager. Bohmer explained that rate groups are based on the total number of telephones that can be called without long distance charges. "When an exchange exceeds the maximum number of telephones in its rate group by five per cent, it is reclassified to the next higher rate group,” he said.
