“When you give a man a job to do, you let him do it and then hold him strictly accountable for his performance,” stated new School Board member Robert Eastham at his first meeting last Tuesday, July 10.
Eastham, in suggesting that Superintendent William Bloomer be given more opportunity to direct school affairs, introduced a resolution calling for board meetings to be limited to the 12 monthly sessions required by law.
He acknowledged that special meetings could be called under extraordinary circumstances and indicated that he wasn’t opposed to special budget meetings.
