Mr. Dunphy has always been interested in horses, and, says Mrs. Dunphy, when she was eight years old and he was 10, he used to follow her home from school, “clumping along behind me on his pony.” It is Mr. Dunphy who looks after the saddlery end of the business, while Mrs. Dunphy deals with the groceries.

They also have a line in clothing—jeans, shirts and boots—which is particularly popular, and which they have a hard time keeping in stock.
