Eastham opposed, in particular, special sessions for student discipline cases and for legal issues involving the board. Discipline matters, he said, should be handled by the Superintendent or else acted on by the board at regular meetings.
He suggested that the chairman be authorized to represent the board at conferences with legal counsel with concurrence from the board required before any action is taken.
Eastham’s motion was adopted unanimously with little discussion.
