Charles Eldred, the second new member on the School Board, took a first step towards implementing the intent of Eastham’s resolution.
“Does the School Board have a policy that offers guidelines on who is permitted to use (school) facilities and at what cost, asked Eldred during a discussion on use of the elementary school by the Rappahannock-Rapidan Emergency Medical Services Council.
Chairman Beverly Massie answered that use of the buildings and grounds by recognized community groups was covered in the school policy manual.
“If we have a comprehensive policy, is it necessary for requests to be brought before the board. Eldred continued.
