Mental Retardation Services who is currently in the Apartment Living Program, which provides personal support and encouragement to persons who have learned sufficient skills to live on their own. Staff members of Mental Retardation Services provide guidance in such areas as shopping, meal preparation, simple sewing, care of clothing, housekeeping, job hunting, money management and social skills.
Although most of the women who participated in the make-up demonstration are in their late 20’s and early 30’s, this was their first opportunity to experiment with make-up. Through Joan Lane’s generous donations to the “Share a Care” volunteer program of Mental Retardation Services, the women reaped valuable experience in grooming and socialization.
