Budget Schedule
According to Dr. Bloomer, the schedule of meetings to develop on the . 1980-1981 school budget will be:
—February 19: input from principals. Rappahannock County Education Association and citizens,
—March 4: presentation of the proposed budget by the superintendent including one set of figures based on meeting minimum standards set by the state and a second set of figures representing Dr. Bloomer’s recommendations for meeting educational needs.
— March 13: public response to the proposed budget,
—March 18: adoption of the 1979-1980-1981 budget by the school board.
All budget sessions will be held in the elementary school library beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The board members also received the proposed sixyear plans for vocational and5 special education.' Interested persons may review copies at the school board offices in Sperryville. The plans will be discussed and acted upon by the school board at the January 8 meeting.
In other action, the board accepted bids of $475 and $500 from Charlie Hawkins of Castleton for two school buses retired from the transportation fleet.
The board also acknowledged a letter from Newbill Miller, chairman of the Rappahannock planning commission’s comprehensive plan committee, asking for a general idea on long range facilities needs.
