Secretaries
At the annual meeting of the Northern District Extension Secretaries’ Association held recently at the Sheraton* Motor Inn at Fredericksburg the following officers were elected for two year terms: Margaret Lewis of Caroline County will serve as vice president; Keith Lilly of Loudouti County was named secretary; Debbie Dodson of Madison, was elected treasurer and Debbie Gatewood of Spotsylvania County will serve as reporter.
Nancy Jo Lawler, Extension Secretary in Orange County, had already been appointed as vice president when Margaret' West resigned, and now Ms. Lawler will automatically move up to President.
Mrs. Wanda Adams, the outgoing president pf Luray, presided at the meetings
Miss Virginia Yancey who has retired from the Culpeper Extension Office after 37 years of service was presented with a certificate and gift.
R. R. Tudor, District* Extension, Agent in thf. Northern • District and association advisor, gave if presentation on Virginia Employee Relations Management which included an explanation of Performance Evaluation, Standards of Conduct and Grievance Procedures.
Bill McDermond of the IBM Corporation gave a presentation and showed a film on the IBM electronic typewriter.
Mrs. Patricia Kosak and Mrs. Carol Bingham of the National Professional Secretaries' Association presented a report on their association and the Certified Professional Secretary examination.
Twenty-eight secretaries from the Northern Extension District (comprised of twenty Extension Units) attended the meeting.
