Four new cases of measles were diagnosed last week among students at Wakefield Country Day School, bringing the total to 20 since the outbreak of the epidemic in September.
According to health department director John Einarson, the new cases mark the fourth wave of measles at the private school in Huntly. "They occurred at the same time as we were anticipating other cases in children who may have been exposed to Wakefield students,” said Dr. Einarson.
To date, however, there have been no instances of the disease in the county’s public schools.
