heifers also went to Page County with Donnie Atwood of Luray taking four large framed Charolais - cross heifers weighting 466 pounds for $70 per hundred weight.
The largest buyers were John Snyder of Hagerstown, Md., who purchased 44 heifers. Amos R. Martin of Shippensburg, Pa., 40 steers, and James Brumback of Winchester, 17 steers and 22 heifers. The largest consignor, with 40 head of cattle, was the J.S. Cooley Estate of Front Royal.
The 332 head sold brought a total of $124,381.43 with the steers averaging $407 and the heifers $310.
