In Ginny’s kitchen you might find dozens of cupcakes decorated with little goblin faces, cheesecakes fresh from the oven, their fruit toppings sparkling like jewels; or pumpkin pies fragrant with nutmeg and cinnamon.
Or go into her dining room and you might find the whole table covered with a giant wedding cake, a fantastic creation with tiers connected by bridges that no engineer would approve.
“Ginny’s Kitchen" is the name Geneva Pierson has given her home baking business. For the past four years Mrs. Pierson has been taking orders_for all kinds of home-baked products which she fills fropi her home in Amissville.
Mrs. Pierson first started baking fancy pastries in order to have special treats for her children when they came home from school. Soon friends and neighbors started asking for her creations for birthdays or showers and demand grew until Ginny’s Kitchen was born. •
Mrs. Pierson’s reputation for baking treats that taste good as well as looking fancy has spread as far as Washington, D. C. She generally goes into the city about once a month to fill large orders for parties. On her last trip there she took a dozen cheesecakes and thirtysix smaller cheesecake tarts for a special party. “All of these are baked the night before,” Mrs. Pierson explained. “Otherwise I wouldn’t consider them really fresh.” How does she do it? “Well, I usually wait until the kids go to bed and then I just get started and work most of the
