Whatever kind of saw you use, hold it firmly with both hands. Keep your legs wide apart or to one side of the saw, and keep the chain parallel to the ground.
Finally, be on the alert for some common causes of chain saw accidents:
—A chain that keeps moving after the trigger is released.
—Twisting the saw in the wood.
— “Nose-sawing,” or
pointing the chain into the wood instead of keeping it parallel.
