Local farmer Robert B. Settle was a rallying point for proponents of county-wide land use. Prior to the board’s action on Monday, only property in approved Agricultural and Forestal Districts which must be a minimum of 500 contiguous acres was eligible for land use.
“How are we going to tell B. Settle who only has 150 acres that he can’t have land use because he can’t get into a 500 acre agricultural district?” asked Newbill Miller.
