Nothing Awry
Chairman E. P. Luke reported that Cox had gone over the figures that morning with superintendent William Bloomer. “He couldn’t find anything awry. They look all right to him,” the chairman added.
Luke said the board must wait seven days before taking a final vote on the budget which will provide ample time to satisfy all questions. He emphasized that the supervisors had given bottom line approval to the school budget in cutting the S189.100 and a that the board’s action to absorb the reduction without affecting salary or benefits was "a perfectly legal thing to do.”
The school board works regularly with school issues every month, he continued. “If they don’t know what’s needed in those schools, there’s no one in this county who does,” Luke said,
