Ribbons and trophies were awarded scores of young equestriennes at Saturday’s horse and pony show sponsored by Wakefield School and held at the Marshall 4-H grounds.
A perpetual trophy, donated by McDaniel Jewelers of Front Royal was given the Wakefield student accumulating the most points during the show. The first Wakefield student to receive this was Billy Germelman, eighth grade son of Mr. and Mrs. Carle Germelman of Berryville who captured 23 points for the day.
Germelman was first in the Wakefield Equitation class and second in the Wakefield Equitation over fences. He too was second in the junior hunter class and in Gambler’s Choice; and was first in junior hunter saddle and third in junior hunter and bareback equitation over fences. Other Wakefield students placing in the Wakefield equitation were John Piper, second; Amy Harris, third; Nancy Massie, fourth.
