In response to citizen demand, the Division of Motor Vehicles has expanded the number of reserved license plate combinations to include as many as six letters on a license plate.
Applications to reserve the special new plates, known as Communi-Plates, will be available at all DMV branch offices and license agencies, beginning May 26.
Using a maximum of six and minimum of two characters, plus one optional space, motorists may combine and mix letters and numbers to form CommuniPlates like these: J JONES, LINDA, GEORGE, DOCTOR, LAWYER, GO CAVS, G MASON, NOT BAD, NO WAY, BACK UP, HOWR U, GO 4 IT, GOLFER, SAIL 8J, TENNIS, C SHELL and ITS 4 ME.
