Bob Dennis maintained that the mood in the county is “to improve the school system,’’ suggesting that money bcjfaund somewhere for a capital improvements program at the high school. He also noted that over the years, new teachers have gained experience in Rappahannock schools and then moved on to other localities which offered better salaries and benefits. “There’s a lot of opinion in the county (in support of school expenditures) that hasn’t been very well voiced to date for whatever the reasons...Our family supports more money for the schools,” he said.
Diana Bird also protested 'the $89,100 cut in school expenditures made last month by the supervisors and added her support for higher taxes if the money went to the schools.
