Carol, who also raises German shepherds, was enchanted by the photograph and began lobbying efforts almost a year ago to have the shot included in the German Shepherd Club’s new calendar. The 1982 Calendar came off the press recently with Asta and the raccoon as February’s stars.
In the meantime, what’s happened to Ricky and Raquel?
The pair left Mountain Green Farm last October but it was a see-you-later rather than a goodbye.
"It’s the funniest thing. They’ve come back to visit on just about' every holiday,” Sally reported. Ricky and Raquel both showed up on Thanksgiving, a day or two before Christmas and again on Valentines Day.
“Then this past June, Raquel returned. She didn’t bring her babies but we could tell she was a nursing mother. She arrived for dinner every day for a whole month to eat cat chow,” Sally
