In the face of the charges and counter charges, Latham suggested that the discussion be discontinued until commonwealth attorney Douglas Baumgardner was present to explain the proposed noise ordinance. Involved in legal matters in Fauquier County, Baumgardner was not back before adjournment so the supervisors tabled the matter until Thursday’s special 10 a.m. session.
Also set for Thursday is the vote to adopt the county’s new redistricting plan.
In other action on Monday, the supervisors named Thomas Williams, Jr., of Flint Hill to serve on the Rappahannock welfare board as the supervisors’ representative to that threemember body. They also voted unanimously to extend the deadline for filing for land use taxation by 60 days until December 31 and to accept Stringfellow’s bid of $325 for repairing the sidewalk in front of the court house.
