Spring of 1981 on the proposed 1981-82 Title XX Plan. Additionally, there was another 30-day comment period beginning August 14, 1981, on the amendments to the Title XX Plan, necessitated by the federal fund reductions contained in the Title XX Social Services Block Grant.
The amended Title XX Plan, as of October 1, 1981, will reflect the federal funding reductions that accompanied the Title XX Block Grant. An across-theboard 16.5 percent reduction in federal monies has been applied to all localities throughout the state in order to affect the federal fund reduction.
Federal dollars available to Virginia, under the previous Title XX Program, for the federal budget year October 1, 1980 through September 30, 1981 were $68,462,156. For the twelve month period beginning October 1,1981, there will only be $56,331,375 available to Virginia to fund social service programs.
