On March 1, Rappahannock's Senior Citizen Nutrition Site will move to a new location at Trinity Episcopal Church in Washington.,

In connection with the nutrition program administered by the Area Agency on Aging, Bob Cowan, coordinator for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), is looking for persons of all ages willing to donate their time and talents at the new site.

In addition, he issued an invitation to county residents 60 years of age and over to visit Trinity on Monday, March 1, and join the group for lunch.

The nutrition program is designed to provide more than just a balanced meal, according to Cowan. “It gives senior citizens an opportunity for companionship and sociability.” he explained. To that end, Cowan is concentrating on expanding other activities included as part of the nutrition program.

“Our plans include starting craft classes and, if interest is shown, organizing a Bible study group. We’re also hoping for a donation of a used piano in working condition that we can use for sing-alongs of hymns and other old favorite tunes," he said.

Several individuals have already contacted the RSVP director with offers to give travel slide shows of Norway, Spain, Italy, the Holy Lands
